Sri Ramabhyudhaya
Was established in 1890 and since then has been relentlessly conducting various Seva and Pooja activities in Lord Sri Rama’s name. The Sabha is very grateful to late Bettegowda of Srirangapatna Taluk and his successor late. Sri B. Chaluvyya for donating their premises for the purpose of the Sabha activities. The Sabha conducts Seva annually on Ugadi Day for the well
being of their family.
From the day of inception, importance has been given to all the daily poojas
and all the important festivals are celebrated in a grand manner with special prominence given to Ramotsava celebration in Chaitra Masa.
There are four Srirama temples in this area of the city. The first one Sri Ramabhyudhaya Sabha, second
one is Sri Vittalarayara Rama Mandira, the third one is Sri Bidaram Krishnappanavara Rama Mandira and the last one is Sri Annanthappaavara Agrahara Prasanna Rama Mandira. These temples came to be identified by their main activities like Vittalarayara Rama Mandira came to be more popularly known as Alankararamamandhira because of the way Srirama’s idols and photos were adorned and decorated beautifully with flowers. Sri Ramabhyudhaya Sabha was well known for the distribution of prasada and their annadhana seva.
Hence, Sri Ramabhyudhaya Sabha came to be popularly known as Sapat (food) Rama. Sri Biddaram Krishnappa Ramamandira was prevalent for organizing music concerts by famous musicians and hence came to be known as Sangeeta
Rama. Annanthappa Agrahara Prasanna Ramamandira and Sri Ramabhyudhaya Sabha are very old and historical ones and have been engaged in various activities for the past century.
Sri Ramabhyudhaya Sabha is one of the oldest Ramamandir of the City and as per records it was established in the year 1890.The main deity is the painting ofLord Sri Rama, Sita Devi, Lakshmana and Anjaneya Swamy, which are portrayed on a paper. This Mysore style painting is about 128 years of old and the same portrait is still being worshipped here. The speciality of this portrait is that we can see Goddess
Sita to the right and Lakshmana to the left of Lord Sri Rama and Sri Hanuman is instanding posture in front of Sri Rama unlike other traditional pictures of Sri Rama where Sitadevi stands to the left and Lakshmana is to the right of Sri Rama and Hanuman can be seen sitting in front of them.
